Biffaward Small Grants

The Biffaward small grants scheme, which gives grants to improve local amenities and conserve wildlife, is now open to applications again.

From the website: 'Often groups need only a small amount of money to make a difference to a local facility, be it a community building, nature reserve, cultural facility or outdoor space. The Small Grants Scheme offers quicker access to lower levels of funding to make these projects happen.'

Groups can apply for between £250 and £5,000. The project must not cost more than £10,000 in total.

Projects must be within ten miles of a Biffa operation (there is a proximity checker on the website) and within ten miles of a landfill site owned by any company. There must be at least 104 days of full public access to the project per year. Any Biffaward grant will be used for site-based improvement work, not equipment or running costs.

There is a rolling application process so bids can be accepted at any time.
